Are you searching for your GI father?

FREE HELP FOR WAR BABIES

Our team of Research Volunteers help children of American servicemen to find their unknown Fathers. We specialise in helping children born during WWII.

All research services are provided free of charge.

You don’t need the name of your Father to search, but you will need to purchase an Ancestry DNA test.

Find My GI Father Research Team: Teresa Wainwright and Catherine Hughes
Teresa found her GI Father in 1998 and Catherine discovered the identity of her GI Grandfather in 2015. Between them, they have over 40 years of experience in using both DNA and traditional genealogy and have successfully reunited many dozens of War Babies with their American families.

Your personal Research Volunteer will work with you throughout each step of the process. Every search is different, so some searches will be solved far more quickly than others. You may be lucky enough to find close DNA matches straight away, or we may need to build out family trees based on more distant matches in order to help identify your father.

We can help you to upload your Ancestry DNA to other genealogy sites, to help widen the pool of potential matches.

Once we have a potential name, we can assist you in applying for the service records of that serviceman. There is no charge for obtaining records.

No matter how long it takes, we undertake to “hold your hand” throughout your entire search. You can help in your search or we can undertake to search on your behalf. Together we can help you find the answers you seek.
